Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Fairly light lemon yellow colour. Beautiful open nose of citrus fruit zest, passion fruit and quince paste. Fairly smoky mineral note. Good balance on a full-bodied wine, beautiful finesse, the character is frank and signed on mineral and yellow fruit notes. Beautiful frank, straightforward, rather tense and sapid length.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The Saering, which was first mentioned in 1250, rises like a peninsula on the plain, forming a ring-shaped tongue of land. This hillside has been marketed under its own name since 1830.

Domain and appellation

  • To the north of Guebwiller, the Saering turns east and south-east at an altitude of 260 to 300 metres. The Saering, with its marly-calcareous sandstone soil, is a magnificent fine and refined Riesling. Hand-picked by hand.

Whole grape pressing, static settling. Fermentation in temperature-controlled tuns for 1 to 4 months. Maturing on fine lees for 8 months.
