Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open and frank, with aromas of pear in syrup, white flowers and vanilla.

The attack is supple, combining roundness and balance to create a delicious mouth-feel.

The character is straightforward, with notes of white fruit, peach and apricot, accompanied by a hint of white pepper.

The finish is full-bodied, with hints of white fruit and spices and a pleasant lingering finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE LAURIGA

Located in the Aspres terroir, in Thuir, close to Perpignan, Château Lauriga is the latest acquisition of Jean-Claude Mas in 2016.

Half of the vineyards are in AOP Côtes du Roussillon.

The plantations were defined based on the sun's path so that photosynthesis subtly serves the aromatic profile, as well as taking into account the direction of the tramontane wind to prevent damage to the wood.
