Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open and frank, with aromas of tobacco leaf, grilled red fruit and fresh blackcurrant.

The attack is supple and woody, with smooth, full-bodied tannins, underpinned by fine balance.

The finish is straightforward and distinctive, marked by red fruit coulis and aromatic notes, with a pleasant persistence that brings out the gourmet flavours.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • MOULIN DE GASSAC

MOULIN DE GASSAC was created by the Guibert family in the 1970s. This estate in the Vallée de Gassac developed under the guidance of renowned specialists such as Henry Enjalbert and Emile Peynaud.

Winemaking: 100% de-stemming. Skin maceration for 10 to 12 hours in a refrigerated tank, pressing, fermentation under temperature control.
