Fruity and well-rounded
Purple colour with ruby reflections. Straightforward nose with violet and fresh blackcurrant. Opens on notes of cocoa and fresh spices. Supple attack on raspberry jam. Straightforward character. Lengthens on blackcurrant coulis, violet. Straightforward and peppery finish. Attractive character.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The Nero d'Avola is a black, italian grape variety. Its name comes from the town of Avola in the south east of Sicily.
Domain and appellation
Sambuca di Sicilia
The estate is situated on a hill, Sambuca di Sicilia, in the Belice Valley where wonderful vegetation surrounds the town, rich in local myths and legends.
The maceration takes place at a controlled temperature. The pumping over takes place every 4 hours, the maceration lasts 10 to 12 days. The pressing is gentle to avoid the extraction of green and bitter tannins. The wine is aged in stainless steel vats.
