Fruity and well-rounded

Discover the nice finesse and the balance of this garnet-colored Morgon releasing mineral fragrances allied to a spiced note recalling liquorice and pepper. In mouth, its tannic structure, pleasant and ripe, is mixing with its winey taste and a nice envelope. It is followed by a frank and straight length, typical, unseen before and agreeably astounding.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The wine-makers of this cru have invented a word to describe it when it is at his zenith : The Morgon “morgonne”. Numerous specialists of the wine have adopted this expression.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Pierre Dupond

    Morgon is a Cru of Beaujolais powerful and plump. It is probably the one expressing the best its terroirs, one of the most renowned of the Designation, the well-known climate “Les Grands Cras”. The plot is strongly renowned and highly qualitative. This is the family Dupond working in the Beaujolais field since 1860 that elaborates this wine. Hervé Dupond, 5th generation, runs with its brother the family domains and their activities of wine-making and aging.


    • Terroir: The vineyard is located on a fabulous terroir to produce great wines with a knoll made of granite and schist and well-known eruptive rocks nicknames “rotten rocks”.
    • Viticulture: Vines are 60 years old on average. The harvests are manual.
    • Wine-making: After being destemmed, the grapes are vinified in the Burgundy traditional way. It is subjected to a maceration lasting for about 20 days. A part of the wine ages in barrels while the rest is put in concrete tanks during 9 months.
