Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Dark, dense, opaque and brilliant garnet-red colour with purple highlights; open nose with notes of cocoa and roasted plums; spicy, fleshy attack, tension, fullness, full-bodied. The finish is sapid, full, fleshy, with floral and spicy notes; good balance!

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

In 2008, the Domaine La Garelle was bought by Alain Audet, an agricultural engineer whose family is originally from the Luberon. As owner and winegrower, he pursues the same policy of quality research with a motivated and passionate team.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine La Garelle

The Domaine La Garelle covers 28 hectares, at the foot of the Luberon mountain, 35 km east of Avignon, between the villages of Oppède and Ménerbes, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It is a very special terroir, limestone, sandy and stony, on which the vine was already cultivated in Gallo-Roman times.
