Fruity and well-rounded

This brick-colored wine combines suppleness, balance and taste with a disconcerting ease. These three characteristics are first felt at nose. It will evoke you black fruits, blackcurrant, blackberry. Then in mouth, its black fruits taste allies perfectly with these terms to create a perfect balance.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Château d'Aubaret

    On the buttrest of Faugères, the Château d’Aubaret unveils a terroir that has personality. Located at the North-West of Pézenas, in the town of Magalas in the Hérault department, it is situated on a nice plateau that prefigure the vineyard PDO Faugères.

     

    • Terroir: The vineyard extending on 65 hectares is located on rocky lands and soils made of clay and limestone. Vines are exposed to a dry and fresh climate and to an almost permanent sun exposure. Thus, all these conditions help the grapes obtaining deepness and elegance. The extremely favorable climate help to get an optimum ripeness as well.
       
    • Viticulture: Harvests are done when the optimum ripeness is reached.
       
    • Wine-making: It is made grape variety by grape variety after the destemming. Then, a long maceration and regular pigeages follow. A part of the gathering ages in oak barrels.
