Our oenologists' opinion

Its brick color offers a nose of black roasted fruits and licorice. The palate is heady and characterized with melting tannins.

Brick Red

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Camille Cayran

Implemented on the most prestigious meridional Rhône’s appellations, the Maison Camille Cayran exists through a partnership between 80 winegrowers producing wines under the Plan de Dieu, Vacqueyras, Girondas, Châteauneuf du Pape and Côtes du Rhône Villages Cairanne and Rasteau appellations.

    • Terroir: Les Voconces Cayranne benefits from the Côte du Rhône Villages terroir with a soil made of sandstone, clay, gravels and sand.

    • Viticulture: The Maison seeks to preserve its terroir through sustainable agriculture. Some plots are slowly converted to organic agriculture. The “agri-confiance” label rewards those environmental-friendly practices.
