Our oenologists' opinion
Its brick color offers a nose of black roasted fruits and licorice. The palate is heady and characterized with melting tannins.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
Implemented on the most prestigious meridional Rhône’s appellations, the Maison Camille Cayran exists through a partnership between 80 winegrowers producing wines under the Plan de Dieu, Vacqueyras, Girondas, Châteauneuf du Pape and Côtes du Rhône Villages Cairanne and Rasteau appellations.
- Terroir: Les Voconces Cayranne benefits from the Côte du Rhône Villages terroir with a soil made of sandstone, clay, gravels and sand.
- Viticulture: The Maison seeks to preserve its terroir through sustainable agriculture. Some plots are slowly converted to organic agriculture. The “agri-confiance” label rewards those environmental-friendly practices.
- Vinification: The red are 80% blended with Rhône’s flagship grape varieties: grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre.
