Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open, revealing aromas of candied yellow fruit, vanilla and cashew nuts, with a hint of mocha.

The attack is full-bodied, with a slight techno touch and a character marked by yellow fruit and white peach syrup.

The wine has medium body and good balance.

The finish is fleshy and greedy, with notes of white peach and mango, and medium persistence.

For its Viognier Grande Réserve, Maison Castel has selected the finest plots from three departments within the Pays d’Oc Protected Geographical Indication:

• Hérault, with the semi-hillsides of the Villafranchian terraces, bringing complexity and depth;

• Gard, with its clay-gravel soils, whose early ripening lends power and richness;

• And Aude, with later-ripening clay-limestone terroirs, contributing tension and freshness.

These are carefully monitored vineyards, where Maison Castel observes, analyses, and tastes the berries from each plot almost daily to pinpoint the ideal harvest date.
