Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

The nose opens frankly, with a fruity, gourmet expression, combining crunchy redcurrants, fresh citrus fruit and red berries, enhanced by a hint of grenadine.

On the palate, the attack is supple and delicious, carried by a fine tension and subtle minerality.

The wine is well-balanced and slightly delicate, finishing on a sapid, frank and thirst-quenching note that beckons you to take the next sip.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • MAISON CASTEL

While its cultivation is particularly developed in the northern vineyards, Pinot Noir also thrives very well in the Pays d’Oc.

Under the Mediterranean climate, this early-ripening grape easily reaches its maturity, producing refined rosés.

Benefiting from the Protected Geographical Indication Pays d’Oc, the Pinot Noir rosé Grande Réserve from Maison Castel is the result of a selection of the best plots from different terroirs.

On one side, the Villafranchian terraces in the hinterland of the Hérault, a late terroir whose freshness allows for a more precise maturity of the grapes, resulting in more balanced wines.
