Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Shiny golden yellow colour. Nice frank, open nose of candied fruits, quince paste, apricot jam, hints of prunes. Good balance on a full-bodied wine with a nice freshness and good tension. The sweetness is there but already quite melted. Nice straightforward finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Situated in the wine regions of the Nantes and Anjou, the cellar cooperative Les Vignerons de la Noëlle has 90 vines extending over more than 730 hectares. It produces the majority of AOC wine.

Terroir: the grape harvest for this Coteaux du Layon comes from the vineyards of Nantes with a majority of grapes from the West atlantic.

Viticulture: Belonging to the Terrena groupe, all the vine growers of the cooperative engage in sustainable viticulture practices with the implementation of sustainable agriculture. The harevsts are carried out in successive phases so as to only harvest the overripe bunches.

Vinification: Vinified at a low temperature (12° to 14°) these wines ferment slowly in order to preserve and highlight all of the aromas of the fruit.
