Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Dark brick colour with garnet reflections. Frank and typical nose with aromas of cold tobacco, green pepper, juniper, hint of mocha. Good balance, full-bodied and quite vinous. Nice straightforward character with woody notes that melt in, ripe, fairly round tannins. Good straightforward finish with a little finesse.

Brick Red

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • 2017, a rare, trying and heterogeneous vintage...

A dry late autumn 2016 and a very mild early winter 2017 with a consequent lack of rain. A spring marked by a terrible episode of spring frost, from 26th to 28th April, which ravaged a very large part of the Bordeaux vineyard in an assorted manner. The Médoc vineyards were nevertheless spared more, except in the lower parts, thanks to the estuary and the water temperature. It took more than a month for the growth of the frozen plots to resume. A sunny summer with a very hot June followed by a rainy September.
A very early harvest heralding good quality, as no phytosanitary problems occurred.
