Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Straw yellow with lemon highlights. Nose of vanilla wood, notes of fresh hazelnuts, ferns and a hint of citrus zest. A well-balanced, straightforward, fairly full-bodied wine. Character that extends the aromas of the nose. Straightforward, typical finish with a touch of vanilla.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • MAISON CASTEL

With its Grande Réserve wines, Maison Castel offers you a selection of renowned Pays d'Oc grape varieties. These vintages have been selected and vinified with the utmost care. Can you tell the difference?

Terroir: This Grande Réserve Chardonnay, selected from the Pays d'Oc terroirs, benefits from the protected geographical indication. The Pays d'Oc, with its diverse soils and Mediterranean climate, allows this grape variety to reveal its full potential, particularly its aromatic range.

Vinification: Careful selection of grapes and particular attention during vinification create the character and elegance of this wine.
Separation of free-run juice and press juice, followed by settling. The musts are settled and sent to fermentation at between 15 and 17°C to enhance the tropical and orchard fruit aromas. The wines are matured on fine lees for 2 to 3 months, with regular stirring to give them greater volume on the palate and aromatic complexity.
