Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

In 1970, the famous pianist Jacques Loussier, then proprietor, created on the Domaine a recording studio - Le Studio Miraval. Many artists came to record their albums there (Pink Floyd, Sting, Sade, The Cranberries ...).

Domain and appellation

  • Château Miraval

Miraval rosé comes from the best vines of the castle, benefiting from its own valley in the heart of Provence, as well as a selection of vineyards in the best terroirs of Provence.

    • Terroir: The soils are clayey-limestone, partly in terraces of an average altitude of 350 meters. The fresh climate for the region and the wide variations in temperature between the day and the night make it possible to maintain perfect balance in the wines.

    • Vinification: The grapes are mainly harvested in the morning, then sorted. Direct pressing for Cinsault, Grenache and Rolle. The Syrah is vinified by bleeding. Vinification in stainless steel vats, under temperature control (95%) and in barrels (5%) with stirring.
