Powerful wine with potential

Its dark garnet color with black highlights offers wooded notes in the primary aromas and fruit coulis with licorice in the secondary aroma. The palate is balanced with tight and ripen tannins.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The Lussac Saint-Emilion appellation is the extension located the furthest north of the Saint-Emilion appellation. Honoring its Gallo-Roman origins, the vines take the shape of a amphitheater.

Domain and appellation

    Located in the midst of the Lussac Saint-Emilion appellation, the Château shines on its wide and continuous vineyard.

     

    • Terroir: The 21 hectares domain lays on a clay plateau with hints of gravels and an iron-clay subsoil.

     

    • Viticulture: The vines are in average 35 years old with merlot accounting for over 70% of the total grape varieties. Cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon comes complement the merlot equally. The harvests only occur once the fruits are perfectly ripened.

     

    • Vinification: The wine ferment in stainless steel tanks for several weeks prior to age in French oak barrel. Wines are usually bottled 18 months after the harvest.
