Well-rounded

The straightforward nose reveals aromas of candied Morello cherries and cocoa, opening up to hints of wood and vanilla.

 

The wine's character is expressed through roasted black fruit, spices and hints of truffle.

 

The attack is supple and well-balanced, with a long, cocoa-dominated finish.

 

Pleasant persistence, with a roasted finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Domain and appellation

  • BARTON & GUESTIER

    It was in 1725 that Irishman Thomas Barton settled in Bordeaux to establish his wine trading company, now the oldest wine house still active in Bordeaux. Thomas’s grandson partnered with Frenchman Daniel Guestier, and their collaboration became official in 1802.

     

    From the Chartrons district in central Bordeaux, barrels and bottles were loaded onto ships, transporting the house’s wines via the Garonne to numerous destinations.

     

    Starting with Ireland, England, the Netherlands, and the United States, the company’s reach has now expanded to over 130 countries worldwide.
