Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

The nose is frank and open, offering delicious aromas of yellow fruit, citrus fruit and fresh honey, accompanied by delicate floral notes of wisteria.

The attack is taut and well-balanced, with a touch of character reminiscent of white fruit syrup.

The finish is pleasantly lingering, with a slight sapid bitterness giving a sensation of freshness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Codorníu, SELECCIÓN FAMILIA RAVENTÓS Reserva Bio

This cava is the result of a meticulous selection by the Raventós family: the blend of the Chardonnay grape and two traditional local varieties, Xarel·lo and Macabeo.

Modernity and Tradition come together in this unique organic traditional Reserva method. Codorníu is a prestigious and historic estate dating back to 1551.

Recognised for its modern and elegant image, and a pioneer in the development of traditional methods in Spain, since 1872, the estate has crafted its wines with the utmost respect for nature.

The grapes used primarily come from the area where the climate is most Mediterranean in the Cava DO, where the native varieties express their true character.
