Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
A dark, clear and brilliant wine, with a black colour and garnet highlights.
The nose is open and expressive, characterised by notes of roasted pepper and black fruit jam, with hints of mocha and dark chocolate.
The attack is supple and rich, driven by black fruit. The tannins, round and silky, provide a harmonious texture and fine balance. The palate faithfully echoes the nose with a clean and consistent character.
The finish is of medium length, with a supple aftertaste of fresh spices and candied black fruit, which gently prolongs the aromatic expression.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Domain and appellation
-
The carefully selected terroir gives Mouton Cadet its unique character: the limestone and gravel-clay soils of the Côtes de Bordeaux lend it density and structure, whilst the clay-limestone soils of the Bordeaux appellation impart fruitiness and roundness.
