Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is straightforward and distinctive, dominated by notes of blackcurrant and cooked pepper, followed by aromas of candied red fruit.


The attack is supple, with a lovely roundness and harmonious balance.


The finish is clean and delicious, with good persistence and a hint of tension that adds freshness and dynamism.


The finish is supple and round, offering a fine conclusion to this wine.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • CHÂTEAU LE VALVERT

    Located in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, the Cave de Saumur is now known under the identity of its two founders, “Robert and Marcel.”

     

    This avant-garde cooperative cellar is one of the few in France to have a shared charter requiring 100% of its winemakers to follow environmentally friendly viticultural practices.


    Terroir: Owned by 300 winemakers, the vineyards span over 1800 hectares.


    Viticulture: All members of the cooperative hold the AgriConfiance certification.


    Winemaking: The fermentation in tanks lasts between 1 to 4 weeks, followed by fermentation in oak barrels or tanks.
