Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is straightforward and distinctive, revealing aromas typical of Syrah, with blackcurrant coulis, hints of pepper and subtle cocoa notes.

 

The attack is supple and well-balanced, leading to a long, clean finish marked by aromas of red fruit, violets and grilled spices.

 

The body is medium-bodied with a good body and elegant structure.

 

The finish is straightforward and clean, with a long aftertaste that prolongs the experience.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

    Vinification: All the grapes are destemmed.

     

    Traditional fermentation in vats at 28°C.

     

    Regular pumping over and delestage at the start of fermentation for gentle extraction.

    Long maceration lasting 20 to 25 days, followed by regular tastings to decide when the wine should be run off.


    Terroir : A wide variety of soils: clay-limestone, sandy, alluvial and granite.


    Ageing: Aged in stainless steel and concrete vats to preserve fruitiness and freshness.
