Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Its bright garnet color offers a fresh nose of red fruits. As for the taste, this wine is round and typed with spicy notes. Its finish is emphasized by tannins that blend.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The appellation Côtes du Rhône Villages originally referred to 14 towns of the Gard, Vaucluse and Drome which can still collect the names on the bottle labels. More than 70 municipalities now benefit from this appellation.

Domain and appellation

  • Camille Cayran

Present on the most beautiful soils of southern Rhône, the Cayran Camille house is the result of a partnership between 80 winemakers producing wines under the names Plan de Dieu, Vacqueyras, Girondas, Chateauneuf du Pape and Côtes du Rhône Villages Rasteau and Cairanne.
    • Terroir: The vineyard covers nearly 778 hectares and bears since 2005 the appellation Côte du Rhône Villages with a soil made of sandstone, clay and pebbles.

    • Viticulture: The house seeks to preserve its soils with viticultural practices in farming. Some plots are also converted to organic farming. The label rewards Agriconfiance these practices that are environmentally friendly. The harvest is done manually.
