Fruity and well-rounded
Black colour with purple reflections. Clear nose, with roasted black fruits, liquorice, opens on woody notes, sweet spicy coconut. Then on blackberry and redcurrant. Fleshy, vinous attack, full of balance. In the mouth, spices, aromas, good typicity, character on roasted black fruits. Good persistence.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Internationally prestigious estate, Gérard Beetrand contributes to the influence of the South of France vineyard, the largest wine growing place in the world. Gravitating around the best terroirs of Languedoc Roussillon, the Gérard Bertrand wine fall between tradition and innovation.
- Terroir: Bought by Gérard Bertrand in 1997, the Château Laville Bertrou vineyard is situated in the OAC Minervois La Livinière. Situated between 120-130m altitude, the vines rest on stripped marl soils with calcereous sandstones and compact limestones dating back to the Eocene (the tertiary era)
- Viticulture: The house hope to preserve its terroirs with sustainable, organic and biodynamic viticulture practices. The labels and ceritifications AB, Terra Vitis and Demeter reward environmentally friendly practices.
- Vinification: Each grape variety is vinified separately. The Carignan and the Syrah are vinified in a carbonic maceration for 15 days. Then an alcoholic fermentation at a low temperature. For the Grenache, its maceration lasts for 3 weeks. The wine is extracted at the end of an alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, then blended and put in barrels for a 10 to 12 month aging.
