Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Built in the 14th century on a strong house from the 11th century, Château Camarsac has known hectic hours. Devastated during the Hundred Years War after the siege of the Bordelais in 1377, he escaped destruction orders several times.

Domain and appellation

  • Château de Camarsac

    CHÂTEAU DE CAMARSAC

Located in the Bordeaux wine region of Entre-deux-Mers, Château Camarsac is distinguished by its medieval architecture with the appearance of a fortified castle. Built over 700 years ago, the estate thrives today through its terroir and know-how.

    •    Terroir: Spread over the municipalities of Camarsac, Loupes, Saint Aubin de Branne, Cabara and Sainte-Terre, the Château de Camarsac vineyard offers geological diversity which allows the creation of a very diverse range of wines. The vineyard rests on clay-limestone, clay-loam, clay-gravel, and loamy soils.

    •     Viticulture: Under the leadership of Thierry Lurton, the estate aims to preserve its terroir and minimize the impact of its viticultural practices on the environment. Since 2012, the Château has for example incorporated a vat covered with photovoltaics. Château Camarsac's selection cuvée comes from vines that are 20 years old on average.
