Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The type of oak selected to make the barrels has a major influence on the winemaking process. Its species and origin will give the wine different aromas and structures. In France, wood from the Tronçais forest in the Allier region is often used to make the barrels for the greatest Bordeaux wines.

Domain and appellation

  • BARON LESTAC

Baron de Lestac reveals all the richness of the Bordeaux terroir under the A.O.C. Bordeaux.

Terroir: The gravel and clay-limestone soils as well as the mild and humid climate of the region allow for a blend of Sauvignon, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Viticulture: The grapes are harvested by plot.

Vinification: Fermentation in vats precedes maturation in oak barrels.
