Well-rounded

Its dark ruby color offers a pretty nose of black fruit and spices. As for the taste, this wine has typed a nice balance and finesse. It is frank and round with hints of pepper. Its finish is highlighted by ripe and velvety tannins.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The appellation Côtes du Rhône Villages originally referred to 14 towns of the Gard, Vaucluse and Drome which can still be read on the bottle labels. More than 70 municipalities now benefit from this appellation.

    Founded in 1925, the Cave de Rasteau benefits from the expertise of 80 winemakers extended over 700 hectares of vineyards to produce wines with appellation Rasteau, Rasteau Vin Doux Naturel, Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Rhône Villages.
     
     
    • Terroir: The vineyards are based on mostly clay and limestone soils and stony and on hillsides facing south, 350 meters above sea level.

     

    • Viticulture: Harvesting is done mostly by hand.

     

    • Vinification: Made the traditional way with a long maceration, the wine is aged in concrete tanks.
