Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
The nose is straightforward and expressive, revealing a beautiful typicity of black fruits au gratin, Mediterranean aromas, delicate menthol and sunny garrigue.
Blackcurrant and blackberry dominate, supported by a hint of pepper.
On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and ample, supported by a full body and a silky envelope.
The tannins are supple and mellow, providing roundness and balance.
The character is a faithful extension of the nose, with a black fruit coulis punctuated by sweet spices.
The finish is generous and full-bodied, with a peppery, subtly spicy finish.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
Bottling takes place around 18 months after the harvest.
The wines rest for at least another 4 months in our cellars before being shipped.
Domain and appellation
-
CHATEAU MONT-REDON
The estate, lying as a single continuous plot, is located on the right bank of the Rhône, in the commune of Roquemaure, between Orange and Avignon, near Tavel.
The vines are mostly planted on a plateau covered with rolled pebbles, a hallmark of prestigious Rhône terroirs.
Lower down, the plots lie on terraces and slopes, where the soil is composed of safres (compact sands) mixed with a thin surface layer of rolled pebbles.
This diversity of terroirs gives the wines their structure, minerality, and refined aromatic complexity.
