Our oenologists' opinion
Its dark brick red dress introduced a fresh and exuberant nose of black fruits, citrus peel, licorice and smoky notes. In the mouth it is balanced, honest, fine, round, full and signed by sweet spices, cinnamon, tan and cocoa. Nervous and mineral, this wine offers nice tight and wrapped dow silky tannins. Lovely wine.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The name "Chateau du Bois de la Garde" refers to the most experienced soldiers of the Imperial Guard of Napoleon, the « Grognards ». Returning from combat and returning to civil status, they harnessed to work of wine by founding the foundations of this prestigious area.
Domain and appellation
Château du Bois de la GardeLocated between Avignon and Orange, Château du Bois de la Garde belongs to Mousset Barrot Vineyards. Specializing in Côtes du Rhône and Chateauneuf du Pape House only produces AOC local wines and Villages appellations.
- Terroirs: The domain in provencal country reigns over a continuous area of 60 hectares. The vineyard facing the south-west rests on a soil of pebbles which store heat during the day to restore it during the night.
- Viticulture: The field brings attention to detail of the vines throughout the year. The vineyard work is precise and performed against the mistral. The harvest is mostly manual. The vines are pruned to protect the grapes from the wind and sun.
- Vinification: In the winery, the wine is fermented and macerated for a period of 15 days in temperature-controlled vats before aging in concrete tanks tanks.
