Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
Its garnet color offers a pure and elegant nose of fresh red fruits such as cherry, blackcurrant and raspberry, as well as bigarreau and violet. In the mouth, this wine presents a nice balance and finesse. It is frank, full, well signed and nervous with a finish on noble and velvety tannins.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
The name of Château Mont-Redon comes from the Latin "Montem Retundum" which means "Mont Rond", referring to a small round hill in the locality.
Domain and appellation
Château Mont-RedonLocated on the highest terrace of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, between Orange and Avignon, Château Mont-Redon was bought in 1923 by Henri Plantin. This huge area consists of 3 vineyards: 100 hectares of vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 32 in Lirac and 22 in Côtes du Rhône.
- Terroir : The 22 hectares of vineyards dedicated to the Côtes du Rhône production rest on clay-limestone soils.
