Our oenologists' opinion
Its ruby color offers a vinous and powerful nose of yellow fruit, spice and liquorice bread. On the palate, this wine is full-bodied with a finish on dense tannins and good length.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
Cave de Tain l'Hermitage
Founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert of Loche, the Cave de Tain benefits from the expertise of 300 winemakers spread over 1000 hectares of vineyards to produce wines with appellations such as Hermitage, Crozes Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Cornas and Saint Péray well as well as local wines.
- Terroir: The plots selected for this red Crozes-Hermitage are based on granite soils, and alluvium of outwashed soils. La Cave de Tain produced over 50% of this AOC.
- Viticulture: The yields of its lands are limited so as to ensure optimum ripeness of the grapes.
- Vinification: This red is produced exclusively from Syrah. Fully destemmed, the harvest undergoes a pre-fermentation cold maceration. This wine is partially aged in French oak barrels.
