Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open and expressive, revealing notes of overripe grapes and liquorice, before developing into aromas of prunes.

The attack is clean, powerful and full-bodied, characterised by spices and rich notes of liquorice.

On the palate, it displays a generous and distinctive character.

The finish, clean and well-structured, lingers with lovely persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE COTTEBRUNE - FAMILLE GAILLARD

This red Faugères ‘Les Moulins’ is a fruity, balanced and vibrant wine.

Pierre Gaillard and his family own four estates on the slopes of the northern Rhône, in Faugères and Banyuls.

Their sunny, schist-rich terroir lends the wine character, elegance and complexity. From vine to bottle, care and high standards are shared throughout the process.
