Powerful bouquet

The nose reveals woody, roasted aromas, enriched by notes of prune, undergrowth and roasted black fruit.

 

The attack is supple and well-balanced.

 

The lingering finish is frank and greedy, revealing an assertive character of roasted black fruit and caramel.

 

The wine lingers well, with hints of roasting that prolong the tasting.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The Gatefer cuvée is named after a parcel on the estate.

 

It was added to Domaine de La Clapière with the 2006 vintage.

    Domaine de la Clapière, an emblematic Languedoc property, is located in Montagnac, near Pézenas.

     

    Covering 38 hectares of alluvial terraces, its unique terroir combines filtering gravelly areas with outcropping rock, ensuring exceptional diversity.

     

    This mosaic of grape varieties enables the estate to offer a range of wines that are both varied and unique, perfectly reflecting the identity of this fresh and distinctive terroir.
