Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful bouquet
A garnet-red colour with brick tints, opaque and brilliant.
The nose is open and full-bodied, with aromas of plum gratin and spices, with a hint of mocha.
The attack is satiny, supported by long, fat tannins, with a small envelope and a character marked by grilled spices and candied pepper.
The balance is good, and the finish is spicy, fairly full-bodied, with medium persistence.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

CHÂTEAU TOUR DES TERMES
A great vintage with excellent ageing potential
Every great vintage stems from favourable climatic conditions. After a mild and dry winter, spring was rather cool and wet. From June, a long-lasting heatwave set in — a sign of great success in Saint-Estèphe, thanks to our clay-rich subsoils and their high water retention capacity.
The harvest took place under brilliant sunshine, and the grapes reached the sorting table at optimal ripeness.
After 6 months of ageing, the first tastings reveal a great vintage, opulent, with excellent cellaring potential. Its elegant tannins and freshness should make it a true benchmark in Saint-Estèphe. -
