Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful bouquet
Amber garnet colour with copper highlights, opaque and glossy. Open nose, with notes of black cherry coulis and Espelette chilli pepper, spicy, with a hint of mocha. Supple and roasted attack, satiny tannins, character on red fruits au gratin and plum brandy. Finishes with a hint of peppers. Beautiful lengthening on the roasted notes, rather good balance, tannins still rather closed.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The Lussac Saint-Emilion Appellation Contrôlée is the north most extension of the Saint-Emilion. Paying tribute to its Gallo-Roman origins, the vines are in the form of an amphitheater.
Domain and appellation
-
Château Bel-Air
Located at the heart of the appellation Lussac Saint-Emilion, the château Bel-Air vineyard is held by a single proprietor.
- Terroir: This 21 hectare domain rests on a clay plateau with a presence of gravle and a subsol composed of iron and clay.
- Viticulture: The vines are about 35 years old with a grape variety composed of 50% merlot, 35% cabernet franc and 15 % cabernet sauvignon. The grape harvest is carried out once the grapes have reached their ideal maturity.
- Wine-making: Fermentation lasts several weeks in temperature-controlled vats and before a traditional aging in oak barrels. The wines are bottled on average 18 months after the harvest.
