Our oenologists' opinion
Dark garnet colour with brick tints, dense, opaque, glossy. Open spicy nose, animal hints, pretty notes of fur and red fruit gratin, cocoa hints. Supple attack, notes of candied peppers and red berries. Roasted finish, rather fat and long tannins, a little lengthening on cocoa and red fruits.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
Situated in Capian, 30km to the south east of Bordeaux, this 16th century château was once the hunting lodge of Jean-Louis de Nogaret de la Valette, duke of Epernon. Restored in the 17th century, the property was bought by the Suau family in 1637. Over time, the Suau château had known many owners before being bought by the Bonnet de Mazamet family in 1986. Since 2014, the current majority shareholder is an Argentinian businessman, Alejandro Bulgheroni. Terroir: The 66 hectare estate sits on clay-gravel hillsides. Viticulture: Since 2008, Château Suau works with an organic wine growing approach. Vinification: A cold pre-fermantation maceration precedes a fermentation in stainless steel, thermo-regulated tanks with reassembley and punching down.
