Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

Dark garnet colour with brick tints, dense, opaque and brilliant; open nose with notes of mocha, roasted plums and black cherry; supple, velvety attack with notes of peony, cocoa and pepper; small length to be increased on redcurrant and cocoa, spicy touch, to be aged.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • RESERVE MOUTON CADET

Created in 1930 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Mouton Cadet wines reflect the diversity and richness of the Bordeaux terroir through a wine accessible to all.

    •     Terroir: The harvests come from the whole of the Bordeaux terroir thanks to a unique partnership with more than 450 winegrowers spread over more than 1200 hectares.
    •     Viticulture: These long-standing partnerships allow for a top-of-the-range plot selection. The winegrowers are bound to the requirements of Mouton Cadet by the specifications.
    •     Vinification: Combining modernity and technicality, the blending of the different flagship grape varieties of the Bordeaux region is precise and aims to maintain the typical blackcurrant note. The incorporation of a water treatment plant using reeds allows Mouton Cadet to extend its so-called eco-responsible practices.
