Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Garnet colour with some black tinges. Pretty nose with typical pepper, boxwood and animal notes. Well-balanced, fleshy, full-bodied, good character, frank, straightforward, hints of soft caramel. Good round length, vinous with supple tannins that have already melted.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Les Pierres de Livran

    The various families that occupied the estate throughout time (Soudan de Latrau, Ferran, Perrier du Larsan and Lambert des Granges) testify of the discreet greatness of the Livran castle. It has earned its nobility with its Cru Bourgeois designation received in 1932.
     

    • Terroir: The vineyard extends on 27 hectares. It is located on soils made of clay and limestone.
       
    • Viticulture: Harvests are mechanically done.
       
    • Wine-making: The wine-making is done using stainless steel tanks. The wine rests inside of concrete tanks.
