Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
A gentle pressing allows the obtention of high quantity of juice and a filtration of the impurities.
Domain and appellation
Domaine Pierre Duret
Maison Joseph Mellot has provided for more than 10 years the sustainability of the Pierre Duret domain. The Cradle of the Sauvignon, Quincy was one of the first appellations of the Loire to obtain the AOC.
- Terroir: Located 200 km south of Paris, the area covers 13 hectares. The selected vines are averaged 35/40 years and are based on a sandy-gravelly soil.
- Vinification: The gentle pneumatic pressing precedes a controlled temperature fermentation for 6 to 8 weeks and aging on lees with only one filtration.
