Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

You will be pleasingly surprised by this wine that has a nice purple color and by its nuances of fragrances, tastes and sensations. Its discreet nose is composed of light and pleasing scents of blueberry and blackberry. The supple attack is awaken by lively tannins and a tension unveiling a nice long taste of black fruits allying with a touch of spices and pepper.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine de la Loubière

Founded in 1942 by a family coming from the North and newly settled in the south of France, the Château de Campuget is located at 15 kilometers at the south of Nimes, in the town of Manduel, at the heart of the PDO Costières de Nimes.

    • Terroir: The soil is made of rolled rocks. This characteristic composition is resulting in a filtering soil, ideal for the roots of the vines to collect very deeply the water necessary to their growing. The Mediterranean climate is also primordial for the vine that will give a perfectly ripened grape.
    • Viticulture: Vines are 25 years old on average.
    • Wine-making: After macerations lasting for 3 weeks maximum, the wine is separated from the marc that is pressed with automatic pressings. Each grape variety is vinified separately and the wines are finally assembled after a gustatory selection of the tanks. Then wines are bottled at the property.
