Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Its pale straw color offers a nose on the finesse, the minerality with fresh notes of ferns and buttered. On the palate, this wine presents a nice balance, vinous with a beautiful tension on the minerality. Finale straight and taut.

Light Straw

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The village of Chardonnay in the Mâconnais seems to confirm the Burgundian origins of this grape variety. The Chardonnay was cultivated there in the 11th century by the monks of Cluny, before spreading to the rest of Burgundy, then to the whole world.

Domain and appellation

  • Maison Jean Loron

Although Jean Loron was the first in the family line to practise winemaking in 1711, the maison was formally established by his grandson Jean Marie Loron in 1821. This brand is now an international success thanks to wines that are memorable for their consistency and longevity.

    • Terroir: The Mâconnais vineyard is hilly, located in the southern part of Burgundy. The soils are clay-limestone, calcium-brown and marneux, depending on the area.

    • Vinification: Traditional vinification at controlled temperature. Aging on fine lees in vats.
