Fruity and crisp

Coral colour. Frank nose with notes of citrus fruit and fresh pepper. Opens on aniseed notes, supple attack of the full, of the envelope. Nervous and frank length. Nice character on red fruits, notes of fresh spices, dill. Good sapid persistence, acidic finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Made from the Merlot grape variety, emblematic of our Bordeaux region, this rosé is a pressed rosé, i.e. the grapes are pressed as soon as they enter the cellar to obtain a wine that is as fruity and light as possible.

Domain and appellation

  • CHATEAU HAUT-RIAN - VINS PAULINE LAPIERRE

    We are fortunate to be winemakers in Rions, a beautiful medieval village in the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux (or Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux). This region is characterised by steep, well-exposed clay-limestone hillsides, old bastides, family-run vineyards and artisanal wines. It is an authentic and preserved part of the Bordeaux region. To produce a fresh rosé and preserve its aromas, the grapes are picked before they are fully ripe. Since we are looking for very light colours, we make a direct pressing rosé, i.e. it has not undergone maceration. The grapes are received in the cellar, pressed and the resulting must is settled and then fermented at low temperature (14 to 17°). This vinification, very similar to that used for white wines, allows us to produce very fresh wines. The wine is always aged on fine lees. After clarification, the wine is bottled.
