Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
Its light straw color with green highlights offers a fresh nose of citrus zest and lime with finely woody and nutty notes. On the palate, this distinctive wine is balanced, frank and open with a nervous finish, coated and palatable.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation
In the early 1980s, Château Rahoul made its entrance into the very treasured circle of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. Alain Thiénot took over ownership in 1986 and pursued his path in Bordeaux after purchasing the Château de Ricaud in Cadillac-Loupiac.
- Terroir: This nearly 40-hectare domaine lies on soils that are composed of sand and gravel, as well as clay and gravel.
- Viticulture: Harvesting is done manually.
- Vinification: Pressing in an inert atmosphere (nitrogen) to prevent oxidation of the grapes. Alcoholic fermentation in barrels precedes maturation of 8 to 9 months in oak barrels on fine lees with regular stirring.
