Fruity and well-rounded

Garnet colour. Straightforward nose of blackcurrant coulis, herbs and fresh spices. Supple attack with roundness and balance. Woody, vanilla notes. Clean, long-lasting aromas of blackcurrant coulis. Clean finish with good persistence.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Each cuvée number corresponds to a new vintage. The number 300 will be the vintage celebrating 300 years of B&G.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • BARTON & GUESTIER

    Our Syrah grapes come from vines over 50 years old and from well-oriented plots on very sunny hillsides that benefit from the coolness of the nearby Cévennes. Climate: Mediterranean, with high temperatures, exceptional sunshine during the day and cool nights, ideal for the Syrah grape variety. Careful vinification to preserve the fruit and finesse of these great Syrahs. Grapes destemmed, daily pumping over - long maceration in vats for 3 weeks. Aged in French oak barrels for 6 months. Viticulture: Low yields, manual maintenance, rigorous selection and minimal interference in the natural ripening of the grapes. Production is limited to 12,000 bottles per cuvée.
