Powerful bouquet
The nose is open and full-bodied, with notes of peppermint, kirsch and black pepper, with a hint of nutmeg.
The attack is supple and fleshy, marked by tension and finesse.
The character is typical and fairly austere, dominated by Morello cherry and hints of liquorice.
The finish is spicy and full-bodied, with a pleasant persistence of morello cherry and spices.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Domain and appellation
-
MAISON LOUIS LATOUR
To the southwest of the village of Santenay, the Maranges appellation is located at the southern tip of the Côte de Beaune.
Planted with Pinot Noir, the slopes of this vineyard face southeast, with the vines growing on a particularly clay-rich soil.
The wines tend to be firm and tannic during their youth.
