Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Dark brick colour with mahogany highlights. The nose is open, powerful, fine, with notes of kirch, dark chocolate and roasting, and a hint of eucalyptus. Supple, elegant attack, with long, fat tannins. Nice character with candied cherry, cocoa and sweet spices. Satin finish, fleshy, with a nice persistence on candied cherry and kirch.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE BOUCHARD PÈRE & FILS

Founded in 1731 and located in Beaune in the heart of Burgundy’s Climats for nearly three centuries, the Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils cultivates a search for excellence and the transmission of knowledge. Our 105 hectares of vines are spread over a hundred climats in the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, three quarters of which are Premiers and Grands Crus. Obtaining level HEV3 certification in 2015, the Domaine has been committed to a more responsible approach to winegrowing since 2009, with all the vineyards moving towards organic certification by 2026.
