Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

The nose is open and frank, revealing a distinctive and refined profile marked by notes of citrus, peppermint and white pepper, accompanied by a subtle mineral touch.

The attack is supple and generous, carried by aromas of citrus, vanilla and white flowers, with a hint of saltiness and a beautifully balanced texture.

The finish is frank and elegant, lingering on candied citrus, iodine notes and a floral length, punctuated by a delicate hint of praline.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • CAVES DE LA CHAUME

Housed within the outbuildings of the Château de la Chaume, a former 15th-century fortified house elegantly remodelled in the 18th century, the Caves de la Chaume preserve an authentic winemaking heritage and contribute to the creation of wines that reflect the excellence of Burgundy’s terroir.

An iconic winemaking site since 1978, the Caves de la Chaume are owned by MLC. They are located in Burgundy, at the heart of the prestigious Côte de Nuits, in Corgoloin.

This Saint-Bris, the only Burgundian appellation made from Sauvignon Blanc, is born from the terroirs of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, where the grape produces white wines that are dry, fresh, and mineral-driven.

Much like the stone quarried from the Bailly quarries, used in the construction of the Panthéon, Notre-Dame, and Chartres Cathedral, this wine embodies a unique terroir, rich in history and character.
