Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is frank, open and fresh, with citrus and white fruit aromas, a hint of brioche and a mineral touch of flint.

The attack is tight, combining balance, volume and body, followed by medium persistence.

The character reveals itself on woody notes and roasted pineapple, with a beautiful harmony.

The finish is taut and sapid, giving a pleasant sensation of freshness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Between the Côte de Beaune, to the north, and the Mâconnais mountains, to the south, the Côte Chalonnaise stretches its vineyards over 25 km in length and 7 km in width.

Here, at the heart of landscapes marked by hills, the vineyard plots have found their ideal place on the southeast-facing slopes. For a thousand years, the vines have grown in soils similar to those of the nearby Côte de Beaune. With warm summers and dry autumns, the grapes ripen easily.

A little further west, across the Canal du Centre, you enter the Couchois region. To the south of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, this winegrowing area is nestled between 200 and 300 meters in altitude.

Here, six wine-producing communes create wines of character, whose quality has been recognised since 2000 with the AOC Bourgogne Côte du Couchois.
