Domain and appellation

In the heart of the Mâconnais mountains, famous for their limestone rocks, Solutré and Vergisson, Verzé is home not only to Chardonnay vines, but also to a remarkable geological site: the former Rampon quarry. Here, the rock has preserved the memory of a period in our geological history dating back more than 300 million years, from volcanic activity to the arrival of the sea and the first passages of the ancestors of the dinosaurs! Some very beautiful dinosaur footprints bear witness to this. This Mâcon-Verzé is produced on this predominantly limestone terroir of complex origins.
