Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

A shiny lemon yellow colour with fine, light bubbles, a lovely fresh, airy nose of passion fruit, fresh, fairly mentholated notes, notes of brioche bread, a well-balanced, full-bodied champagne with finesse, a lovely character with notes of brioche, vanilla and nerve, creamy bubbles, a lovely, taut length with a hint of chalkiness For aperitifs, creamy fish, poultry with cream...

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Collection 241 represents the 241st blend of the House. Each Collection is a "step aside", a new chapter in the world of Louis Roederer taste. Each time singular but always resolutely familiar!

  • Maison Louis Roederer

It was a desire for freedom, to push the quality of our multi-millilitre blends even further, that led us to take a new approach: the creation of the Collection. A living champagne, more contemporary than ever! Collection 241 represents the 241st blend of the House and is made from 34% of the Réserve Perpétuelle, 17% of the reserve wines aged in wood from the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages. Finally, it is completed by the successes of the 2016 harvest. The blend of Collection 241 is based on the intensity of the Montagne de Reims Pinot Noirs, which particularly shone in 2016 with their bouquet of yellow and acidic fruits combined with lightly toasted, saline and iodine notes. A structure of strong identity marks the mouth at the same time round, juicy and of a great chalky, mineral and saline freshness. The whole is straight, fine, streamlined and fresh.
