Our oenologists' opinion


Its dark garnet color offers a bouquet and flourished nose of roasted black fruits et menthol with woody notes. In the palate, this wine presents a nice balance, roundness and finesse. Its frank, spicy and nervous with a finish with velvety tannins. Palatable.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Formerly called "Bordeaux Côtes de Francs", after consultation with the INAO (Institut National des Appellations d’Origine Contrôlées), the name became "Francs Côtes de Bordeaux" from the 2009 vintage.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Nardou

    Located east of the Saint Emilion, the Francs Côtes appellation of Bordeaux is one of the smallest of the Bordeaux region. It covers the municipalities of Francs, Tayac and Saint Cibard where many historical relics link these three villages. Since 1998, the Château Nardou is owned by the Dubard family.


    • Terroir: This area of 15 hectares is based on a set of silty clay slopes facing south.


    • Viticulture: In the vineyard, sustainable agriculture is privileged and vines are cared for throughout the year.


    • Vinification: Pre-fermentation maceration is carried out in temperature-controlled vats before oak barrels for 12 months.
