Powerful bouquet

Garnet colour, straightforward nose on notes of roasted fruit, black fruit au gratin, toasted and roasted notes, a good balance on a vinous wine, quite fleshy, round, straightforward, nice character with aromas of roasting, toasting, juniper notes, good finish on quite ripe tannins

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

In harmony with the property's round courtyard, the cellar was completely renovated around a circular architecture. The 200 barrels are matured in an elegant and respectful way that enhances the quality of the grapes harvested.

Domain and appellation

    The Château du Lort, built in the 17th century, commands a superb vineyard whose variety of terroirs reveals a real wealth. Acquired in 1984 by the Castel family, the estate first underwent several stages of renovation and technical upgrading in order to guarantee good conservation of the wines.
